The annual Give Big Gallatin Valley is coming right up — Thursday, May 4th beginning at 6pm and running through Friday, May 5th at 6pm. Give Big is a day-long celebration of giving that supports over 150 local nonprofits in just 24-hours.
Of these nonprofit organizations, the Gallatin Wildlife Association (GWA) is a local, all-volunteer group dedicated to conserving wildlife and wildlife habitat in Southwest Montana so hunting and fishing can continue on a sustainable basis for our children and future generations. GWA supports protection of native wildlife habitat, the re-introduction of native species in historic ranges, and the scientific management of fish and wildlife species. They support the interests of the non-hunting community who believe that robust populations of native wildlife are an integral part of Montana’s heritage. The Gallatin Wildlife Association is actively involved in wildlife issues in our area and greater region.
They participate in the Bison Citizens Working Group, Custer Gallatin Working Group, and also organize meetings with Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks, the Governor’s office, Yellowstone National Park, and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service — all to better understand wildlife issues. GWA regularly meets with other wildlife organizations and NGOs on wildlife issues and with our Congressional Delegation to inform and comment. Please consider working with Gallatin Wildlife Association by joining the organization or providing your email so wildlife issues and volunteer opportunities can be easily communicated. If you are able, please donate to GWA during this year’s Give Big day on May 4th at 6pm through May 5th at 6pm by visiting www.givebiggv.org during the donation window.
