Large-scale camera workshop, Open Builds at Makerspace
Bozeman Makerspace will host a Build a Giant Camera workshop, Saturday and Sunday, October 7th–8th from 12–4pm each afternoon. In this two-day workshop, participants will discover how cameras work by building one big enough to stand inside! This will be a great activity for anyone who enjoys photography. First look at how lenses work and how to calculate some important optical parameters, then build a giant camera using the principles learned. Finally, use the camera to take large-format photographs using silver gelatin photo paper, and develop them with basic darkroom techniques.
This workshop is $20 for Makerspace members, and $40 for guests. Space is limited. Please RSVP at www.meetup.com/bozemanmakers.
Also at the Makerspace… What would you make if you had the tools, the space, and the know-how? Perhaps a table of reclaimed wood, or how about an electronically-controlled watering system for potted plants? The Makerspace is the perfect place to bring ideas like these to life, and their Thursday night Open Builds held weekly from 6–9pm are great opportunities to get started. Bring a project to work on or just come hang out and talk shop. Open Builds are a weekly celebration of the joy of making things. It’s a time when those who love to work with their hands and minds share their latest projects with each other, give and receive advice, and discover new ideas. Upcoming Builds are set for Thursdays in November.
