Youth & Adult Hockey Registrations Open
Local youth and adult hockey registrations open online Friday, August 25th
(Bozeman, MT – Bozeman Amateur Hockey Association)
The Bozeman Amateur Hockey Association (BAHA) opens online registration in preparation for the 2017-18 hockey season which lasts from the end of September through April 2018. Registration is found at bozemanhockey.org.
Each year nearly one thousand youth and adult hockey players register for the various programs organized and managed by BAHA. The youth program has a travel league which competes around the state and region.
BAHA also provides a non-travel “Mountain League” for youth players who want to play locally. The non-travel league is also entry point for the youngest hockey players, with players as young at 4 years old.
There are four adult leagues, organized by skill level. In 2017 BAHA created the “Greenhorn” program for the new to hockey players. The program sold out immediately. This year the program includes skill sessions, in addition to games.
“Our registration software is reorganized each year to accommodate new programs, updates, and attempts to streamline the process”, says Communications Director Layne Fisher, “It’s just one piece of the puzzle though. The BAHA Staff, Hockey Director, Operations Director, and I have been working all summer to produce another great year of hockey and ice recreation experiences at our two indoor ice rinks.”
BAHA provides payment plans for registrants prior to September 8th, and also maintains a youth scholarship program to help offset the cost of registration. Two Hockey Night events will be held at Play It Again Sports on September 6th & 7th. It is an opportunity to meet with the BAHA directors, ask questions, and get set up for the season.
This year Haynes Pavilion Indoor Ice Arena has first ice on September 25th, with adjacent Ressler Motors Ice Rink at the Ice Barn opening in late October. Ice programs are scheduled from 6am – midnight on most days and include a daily public skate. A full rink schedule and information on ice recreation opportunities can be found at www.bozemanhockey.org.
