Noon Notes, Monday, April 3, 2017 will feature talented musicians Carrie Krause, violin, Julia Cory Slovarp, cello and Sarah Broomell, piano.
Dr. Julia Cory Slovarp is the Assistant Teaching Professor of Cello at Montana State University. She is the principal cellist of the Intermountain Opera Company, Montana Ballet Company, and Assistant Principal of the Bozeman Symphony Orchestra. She is also the Artistic Director of Noon Notes , Director of the annual MSU Cello Festival, and Director of the MSU Mountains and Minds summer music program.
Violinist Carrie Krause performs as baroque violinist with ensembles across the country and on numerous international series. Last season, Carrie was guest artistic director and concerto soloist with Seattle Baroque in a performance of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons and performed at the BBC Proms with Apollos’ Fire. A graduate of the Juilliard School, Carrie serves as concertmaster of the Bozeman Symphony.
Sarah Broomell performs and teaches in various settings as a versatile pianist, choral director, singer, music educator and cellist having held accompanist, teaching, and choral directing posts in Vancouver, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, Bozeman and Boston. Sarah completed the DMA in collaborative piano at UC-Santa Barbara and both the MM and BM from Baylor University. She was an official pianist for the Northwest MTNA competition, Opera San Luis Obispo, the University of Miami at Salzburg and the Hawaii Performing Arts Festival.
