Verge presents Random Acts Of Improv, Emperor’s New Clothes Verge Theater continues its lively season of hilarious antics with some great shows and performances! Here’s a look at what’s happening in the coming weeks.
Recover from your weekend with Improv Comedy! Join in as Verge offers up a Monday Night sacrifice of the most daring, death defying type of live theater there is: Improv! They call it Improv on the Verge! Improv Monday Nights feature The Bozeman Improverts who will beguile you with their laser-like wits, sharp tongues, and obnoxiously large heads.
These masterful, main stage players improvise sketches built around audience suggestions, play improv games similar to those you see on Who’s Line Is It Anyway, and perform long-form improv that’s basically making up short plays on the spot. You have to experience this to believe it! It’s a mere $7 to get in and laugh like hell at this team of S.W.A.T.-trained Improv Players. (S.W.A.T. = SouthWest Alternative Theater). The next show is set for Monday, March 20th at 7pm.
It’s back! Random Acts Of Improv returns in late March to Verge Theater. The Bozeman Improverts are on the main stage to tackle long form improv—the tight rope walk of the theater world! Using only an audience member’s suggestion for the name of a play, the Improverts will take that title and create characters, scenes, and a complete story line in front of your very eyes.
Cast members Kent Davis, Bennett Drozic, Molly Hannan, Paige Johnson, EB Love, John Townsend-Mehler, BZ Noonan, and Danielle Thomsen will create a full play in two acts using only their acting talents and improbably large heads. The whole night can be summed up by one cast member’s quote, “Scripts? We don’t need no stinking scripts!”
The Improverts will be performing Random Acts Of Improv for three nights only, with (obviously) a new play each night. Come join the fun, Thursday through Saturday, March 30th–April 1st at 8pm each evening. Tickets are only $7 to see this amazing, once in a lifetime event (literally, each of these plays will only be performed once!).
Kathryn Schultz Miller’s dynamic and fun stage adaptation of classic story “The Emperor’s New Clothes” is packed with action, laughs, and magic tricks! Under the Direction of consummate funnyman Todd Hoberecht, lots of hilarity is in store when Peter, the mischievous tailor, comes up with his sure-fire get rich quick scheme to embarrass the vain Emperor and make off with a basket of gold! Peter uses all his wit and magic to convince the court he can make magic clothes! Only those who are very smart can see the clothes, he tells them, so everyone pretends they can see the clothes until…someone in the audience shouts out the truth! The Emperor’s New Clothes runs Saturdays at 2pm from March 25th through April 29th. It’s only $7 for an hour of family fun!
